Florida Fishing Guide
Captain Mike Manis
Hi and welcome to my website. I am Captain Michael Manis, a native Floridian, and ever since I was a young boy the shallows or flats of our inshore estuary systems have been one of my favorite places to be. Some of my fondest memories are from when I was very young growing up fishing the tidal flats of the upper Florida Keys.
Since that time, I spent many years on the Indian River Lagoon near Stuart Fl., and I now call the bays, sounds, and surrounding tidal flats of Charlotte Harbor my home. I have fished all over the state, and, next to the fishing in the 10,000 islands area of Everglades National Park, this is probably some of the best fishing our state has to offer. This estuary system offers a true back country experience.
I am a U.S.C.G. Licensed Guide for inshore and near coastal waters out to 100 miles and have been professionally guiding clients on the waters in and around Charlotte Harbor, Boca Grande, and Pine Island Sound for over six years.
I specialize in fly-fishing and light tackle angling with artificial baits, but like many of my clients, I also enjoy live baiting. Teaching is what really drives me, and I feel that it is important that you come away understanding everything from fish and tidal movements to presentation patterns including some new knots and rigging techniques. Hopefully, some of the skills acquired will be applicable anywhere you may fish in the future.
